Primer Africa Advisory Ltd operates two web properties: our main website at primerafrica.com and our editorial blog at primerafrica.blog.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on our blog, we collect the data shown in the comment form — your name, email address, and comment content — as well as your IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection.
An anonymised string derived from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. Once approved, your profile picture becomes visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to our website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website. We recommend stripping location metadata from images before uploading.
Cookies
We use cookies in the following circumstances:
- Comment cookiesIf you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last for one year.
- Login detection cookiesA temporary cookie is set on our login page to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Articles on our blog may include embedded content such as videos, images, or interactive elements from third-party websites. This content behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the third-party website directly.

Who we share your data with
We do not share personal data with any third party for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes.
If you request a password reset on our blog, your IP address will be included in the reset email as part of WordPress's standard security process.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment on our blog, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and automatically approve follow-up comments.
For users who register an account, we store the personal information provided in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Contact form submissions are retained for a reasonable period then deleted unless ongoing engagement requires otherwise.
Your rights over your data
If you have an account on our site, or have left comments, you may request an exported file of all personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, except data we are legally required to retain.

Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Newsletter subscription data is stored on our servers and may be processed by email service providers bound by GDPR-equivalent data protection standards.
